We filmed an interview for the Wedding Special DVD talking through each of the main love stories, romance and weddings throughout the long running series.
"I think it was pretty clear early on that romance was going to be the main theme of the show." - Julian Fellowes
Each of the key stories were discussed including the rocky start to Lady Mary and Matthew's love story, Anna and Bates, Mr Carson and Mrs Hughes, Edith and her various mishaps and final triumph, all the while the social changes happening across the many seasons.

Downton Abbey has received acclaim from television critics and won numerous accolades, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Miniseries or Television Film and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Miniseries or Movie. It was recognised by Guinness World Records as the most critically acclaimed English-language television series of 2011.
"I just want Edith to be happy." - Julian Fellowes talks about fans of the show asking him to give Edith a happy storyline.
"Julian Fellowes has created such a vivid group of characters and assembled such an impeccable cast--effortlessly oscillating from comedy to drama--that the hours fly by, addictively pulling viewers from one into the next." - Brian Lowry, Variety.
It earned the most nominations of any international television series in the history of the Primetime Emmy Awards, with twenty-seven in total (after the first two series). It was the most watched television series on both ITV and PBS, and subsequently became the most successful British costume drama series since the 1981 television serial of Brideshead Revisited.
We hope you enjoy watching it!
